FISCHER, Charles Fischer
September 23, 1936 - March 8, 2026
He was deeply passionate about farming and took great pride in his farm and the land he worked. An ambitious man with a strong work ethic, he was known for his independence and determination, never hesitating to take on even the simplest tasks himself—peeling potatoes for a full Christmas dinner for the gang was never too much to ask.
Family was the center of his life, and he especially loved having grandchildren around. Together with Helene, he joyfully hosted family gatherings for every occasion—Christmas, Easter, birthdays, and anniversaries—creating memories that will be treasured forever. He held his family close and valued the time spent together above all else.
He enjoyed a good game of solo and rarely missed his weekly card game. Though devoted to his farm, he also made time to travel, exploring Western Canada, Eastern Canada, and Ontario road trips. Charles enjoyed three cruises, including one to Alaska. Chuck and Helene built their retirement home, but his heart never left the farm.
In his later years, macular degeneration limited some of his daily activities, but his spirit remained strong. His greatest wish was to drive a tractor again, and while this was not to be, he never lost interest in the farm, always eager to check on the crops and daily activities.
A devoted member of his church and a man of quiet strength and dedication, he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
We are forever blessed to have called him Dad and Grandpa.
