FOGLIA, Angelina Foglia

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our dearest and sweetest mother, matriarch of our family, Angelina Foglia at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, December 28th, 2025. In her final days, she was surrounded by the unwavering love of her family – her devoted daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren.

Angelina was born in San Giovanni in Fiore on December 15, 1933. We were fortunate to celebrate her 92nd birthday just a few weeks ago. She was the beloved daughter of Francessco  Iaquinta and Lucia Romano. Angelina emigrated to Canada in her early 20’s to marry her husband Antonio Foglia who sadly passed away 38 years ago.

She will be dearly missed by her five daughters and their spouses: Maria and Steve Kelly, Lucy and Joe DiMicoli, Rose and Terry Folz, Franka and Todd Broullire and Sylvia and Kevin Dukes. Angelina was cherished and deeply loved by her eight grandchildren and their spouses, as well as her nine great grandchildren:

• Tara and Jason Borrelli, their children Tayte, Trent and Drue;
• Anthony and Andrea Kelly, their children Griffin and Gia;
• Celia and Paul Bychko, their children JP and Noah;
• Alicia Burgoyne;
• Kristina and Danny Lopes;
• Ashley and Shawn Bibeau, their children Blake and Brielle;
• Courtney and Nick Nicoletta;
• Brandon Dukes and Domanique Camara

She was a dear sister to Benedetto and his wife Maria Immacolata Marziano and brother by heart, Agostino Iaquinta and his wife Pasqualina. Beloved daughter-in-law to the late Salvatore and his wife Maria Teresa Foglia. Sister-in-law to late Giovanni and late Maria Foglia, late Maria, and late Salvatore Mangone, late Pietro and late Luisa (her closest and dearest friend), late Giuseppina and late Luigi Iaconis, late Rosetta and Francesco Carchidi, late Carmen and Antoinetta Foglia and late Isabella and late Vittorio Succuro. Angelina leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Helen Smith officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Diabetes Canada, the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Care Fund (which both touched our family) or the Sault Area Hospital Palliative Care Fund where she spent her last days and received exceptional care on Floor 3A. Special thanks to Dr. Mandur, Dr. Booth, and Dr. Bruner for their invaluable support during this difficult time. We are also grateful to her nurses for their gentle care and compassionate care, especially Lisa and Amy. Also, a special thank you to Theresa Barsanti for her kindness and care of our mother over the years.
