FORNELLA, ROSA FORNELLA

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosa (Ricci) Fornella on August 28th 2025, at the age of 92 . Rosa now enters into eternal glory and has now reunited with her loving husband Gus Fornella. Loving mother of the late Frank Fornella and daughter, Maria Fornella (Kevin). Loving Nonna to Vanessa (Fred) , Ashley, Dontay and Dynelle and Great Grandmother to Jevon. Rosa will be missed by many nieces and nephews. In her early 20’s, Rosa arrived in Canada from Ceprano, Italy where she resided in Leamington, Ontario.
She worked at Omestead Foods for 35 years filleting fish. She also volunteered at Carmens catering for 15 years, as she had a passion for cooking. She was the Nonna who would do anything for her grandkids and anyone in her life. Rosa was a strong and tough lady and nothing could bring her down. She will be greatly remembered by her delicious cooking, baking and her loving care that she always showed to everyone. She will always be remembered and greatly missed. Rosa suffered with Dementia for the past 5 years. Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation goes to all the nurses at The Villiages of St.Clair.
Visitation will take place at Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell St. Leamington, on Friday, September 5th from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, followed by mass at St. Michael’s Parish, 29 Elliott St. Leamington), at 11:30 am.
