FROUD, Frederick Harold Froud  D.D.S.,  –

December 27, 1921 – July 26, 2023

Passed away in his home, with daughter, Margot, at his side Wednesday, July 26, 2023, in his 102nd year.

Predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Yvonne (2011).

Fred is survived by his children, Margot, Mark (Barb Sheedy), Julia (Klaus Hoeg), and David (Debbie MacArthur); sister-in-law, Patricia Ledlow; grandchildren, Kaleigh (Brandon Pachan), Peter, Kiersten, Suzannah, Lauren, Andrew, Emma, and Noah; and great-grandchildren, Abigail, Olive, and Eleanor.

Fred was a graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry (1948).

After graduation, Fred worked for the Red Cross delivering dental services to communities north of Toronto, with a Mobile Dental Trailer.

In the summer of 1949, Fred met Yvonne and resigned from the Red Cross and moved back to Toronto to be near Yvonne. Back in Toronto, Fred started his own dental practice and continued to practice for 50 years.

Fred and Yvonne married in 1953.

They enjoyed many happy summers cottaging near Lake Simcoe with Fred’s parents and the four children.

Fred’s family is thankful for his wonderful caregivers, Nancy, Bella and Virgie, for their service over the past five years.

If desired, donations can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 210, 110 Jutland Road, Toronto, M8Z 2H1, where Fred spent many hours dancing the night away or Kingsway Lambton United Church, 85 The Kingsway, Toronto, M8X 2T6.

At Fred’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. A private service will be held at Prospect Cemetery, where Fred will be buried beside his dear Yvonne.
