FRIESEN, James Friesen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of James John Friesen on October 26th, 2025 in Leamington at the age of 45.

Cherished first born son of John Friesen and Marj Friesen. Dear older brother to Ken Friesen and Phil Friesen. His former wife, Erin Friesen (Omstead) shared three children, Ryann (Jake), Ashton (Darian) and Madison. James has two grandsons, Xylon and Braxton. His dog, Stella, was his best friend, remaining beside him at the time of his passing. James will be remembered by many, as he had a way of imprinting the soul.

James was a man of urgency. He was passionate, empathetic and honest, experiencing emotions deeply and living fiercely. He was unapologetically himself and embraced many people easily and with love.

He was known to be a welder for his father’s business 10-Tech (formerly known as Tug Weld), an artist, a talented and raw writer and a former band member, enjoying singing, playing guitar and music as a whole.

He loved Jesus, openly sharing his thoughts and feelings about God’s unconditional love to those in his life.

Memorial visiting at Reid Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (519-326-2631) on Wednesdsay 5-8 pm. Celebration of James’ Life will be held at the funeral home on Thursday October 30, 2025 at 11 am. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Canadian Centre for Addictions would be appreciated.

I have found the light

And it has made me brave

I only trust in Jesus

It is my soul that He saved

I am of the chosen

Tho I not deserve His grace

I rest inside of Jesus

One day I’ll see His face
