FRIESEN, John Friesen
October 15, 2025
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of John Friesen at 56 years young, who died peacefully on October 15, 2025 at the Cleveland Clinic after a courageous battle with cancer. John was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, and a respected entrepreneur. He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy, and his sons Randy and Jeremy, who carry on his legacy of strength and perseverance. John was predeceased by his son Ryan in 2019, and now finds peace in being reunited with him. John is lovingly remembered by his mother Sara Friesen; his mother-in-law Katherina Friesen; his siblings Peter Friesen, Bill Friesen, Abe Friesen (Sarah) and Margaret Brown (Cameron); and by his many brothers and sisters-in-law. He also holds a special place in the hearts of many nieces and nephews. A man of deep faith and purpose, John’s life was defined by his love for God, his Family, serving others, and his passion for the game of golf. As an entrepreneur he built far more than a successful company, he built a community rooted in integrity, generosity, and hard work. John’s leadership reflected his belief that true success comes from lifting others up, treating people with kindness, and honoring God in all things. Whether mentoring employees, supporting his church, or sharing a round of golf with friends, John led with humility, joy, and laughter. His legacy lives on through the people he inspired and the lives he touched along the way. Visiting will held at Reid Funeral Home, 87 Maidstone Ave E., Essex (519-776-4233) on Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 2-5 and 7-9 pm.
