GAGNON, John Claude Gagnon
September 21, 1935 - July 11, 2025
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of John Gagnon in his 90th year after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer, and more.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 66 years, Leeta (née Jackson). John will be greatly missed by his two loving daughters Cheryl (Leonard) and Gail (Michel). John had four grandchildren whom he adored: Jennifer (Patrick), Ashley (Eric), Michele, and Natalie (Colton). He became a great-grandfather to Judith, Ellie, Gabriella, and Malcolm — they were his little pots of gold.
John is leaving behind many loving cousins from his home province of Quebec, as well as his loving brother-in-law Melvin Jackson, many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
Predeceased by his mother Rosanne Gagnon (née Chasé) (1935), father Jean-Marie Gagnon (1984), loving son-in-law John Scalzo (2015), and loving sister-in-law Shirley Jackson (2025).
The family would like to extend their extreme gratitude to the wonderful Palliative Care Team at the Port Colborne Hospital and to Jocelyne, his home care Palliative Nurse, for their exceptional support.
The family will receive friends at the Armstrong Funeral Home and Chapel, 179 Clarence St., Port Colborne, on Monday, July 21st, 2025, from 2 – 4 pm & 6 – 8 pm. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025, at 11:00 am in the Armstrong Chapel with Father Peter Walton as celebrant.
