It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Joe, dearly loved husband of Katrin and proud, loving father of Colin at Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry.  He will be forever loved and remembered by his brothers and sisters Austin (Sue), Mario (Ana), Mary (Elwood), Vince (Donna) and Connie (Kent). Joe will be greatly missed by his nephews, Martin and Thomas, and nieces, Tammy, Tabitha, Melissa, Amanda, Megen, Jessica, Sarah, Rebecca, Shannon, Kathleen, Chantel and their partners and children.  Joe is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Lucy. He will also be missed by his brothers-in-law Chris (Cheryl), Tom (Therese), Nick and his niece Chantelle.

Joe was born in Malta and arrived in Canada when he was 18 years old. His parents and siblings followed six months later. He landed a job quickly at Sklar-Pepplar where he worked for 25 years before moving to Superstyle Furniture Ltd. for another 25 years. Joe enjoyed designing upholstered furniture, choosing the fabrics and was always proud of the styles he launched.

Retirement years were spent taking trips to explore the world and wintering where it is warmer.  While at home, Joe found a creative outlet working in stained glass and he was hoping to get out to golf more regularly.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry on Sunday August 17, 2025 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.  As expressions of sympathy, donations to Lakeridge Health Cancer Centre or Oak Ridges Hospice or Princess Margaret Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.  Friends are invited to express their condolences, share memories or make donations by visiting www.lowandlow.ca.
