GAUTHIER, Rita Gauthier

The family announces with great sorrow her passing in Sudbury on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the age of 71 years. Daughter of the late John and the late Irène (née Thibault) Ethier. Beloved wife of the late Gaetan Gauthier. Loving mother of Francis Gauthier, Patrick Gauthier, Josée Doiron (Yves) and Marco Gauthier. Cherished grandmother of Jade, Shawn-D, Sydney, Theresa, Kayla, Izabella, Hailey, Alyssa, Hayden, Annabelle, Alexander, Ian, Damon, Andrea and great-grandmother of Jedidah, Joseph and Hudson. Sister of Edward Ethier, Pauline Bernier and the late Joanne Ruffo. Rita will be deeply missed by her loyal fur baby, River, who brought her so much comfort and love. She will be lovingly remembered by many relatives and friends. As per Rita’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Toronto SickKids Foundation by cheque or online would be greatly appreciated.
