Called to eternal rest by his Lord and Saviour, Arnold Ernest Gehrke passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on June 6, 2025, in his 102nd year.

Predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Dorcas Swalwell, Arnold was the loving father of Timothy Gehrke and Jeanine Nicolle (Gary), and cherished grandfather of Summer Murnaghan (Dan) and Courtney Mancini (Matt). Known affectionately as Great-Grandpa Gehrke (GGG), he leaves behind treasured great-grandsons Lucan and Liam Murnaghan, and James and Andrew Mancini.

Remembered fondly by nephew John Gehrke (Thelma), great-niece Ashley Youngblut (Carlos), and great-great niece Alexis Youngblut. Arnold was the last of his generation, predeceased by his parents Herman and Elsie, and brothers Wallace and Albert.

Arnold was the proud proprietor of Arnold Gehrke Sales and Antiques and Other Things in Port Loring, retiring in 2018 after over five decades in business. A WWII veteran, his life was marked by resilience, optimism, and faith.

Visitation will take place at Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Commanda Cemetery. Donations in Arnold’s memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 415, Port Loring.
