SCHALK, Gerard Schalk, Obituary

SCHALK, Gerard  –  Of Listowel, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Saturday December 26, 2015 at the age of 75. 

Devoted husband of Edith (Ropp) Schalk whom he married in 1964. 

Loving father of Susan and Jamie Murr, Laurie Schalk, Donald Schalk.

Proud grandfather of Michelle and Chad, Mahria and Mike, Cody, Kurtis, Danielle and Eileen, and Derek. Great-grandfather of Cohen, Carter and Hadley.  

Dear brother of Willa Ament. Fondly remembered by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bill Ropp, Fred and Verna Ropp, Marg and Bruce Bates, Doug and Valerie Ropp and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by his parents Gerard Sr. and Marie Schalk, brothers Henk and wife Janet, Cor and wife Joyce, sister Erna and husband Bill Lucas and brother-in-law Gordon Ament.

The funeral service to celebrate Gerard’s life will be held at Atwood Presbyterian Church, on Tuesday December 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Theresa MacDonald-Lee officiating.   

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Atwood Presbyterian Church, would be appreciated by the family.
