GERHART, David Milton “Dave” Gerhart

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Dave of Hilton Beach, Ontario, at the Sault Area Hospital on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the age of 81.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Diane (née Hein); his children, Christina (Paul Belair) and Tracy (late Jane); and his sisters, Ann Gerhart and Lisa (John Day). He will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew and loved him.

Born in Sault Ste. Marie to Henry and Marguerite (Smith) Gerhart, Dave was a self-made entrepreneur who founded a successful office supply and printing business. Retiring at the age of 39, he pursued a wide array of interests throughout the rest of his life.

Dave served with the local volunteer fire department and worked as a paramedic, always eager to help others and take on roles that required responsibility and care. He was a passionate collector, lover of history, and a man defined by curiosity and independence.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Donations in Dave’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
