ASTORINO, Giacomo – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Giacomo on October 9, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Devoted husband of Fiorina for 41 years. Loving father of Elisabeth and Maria (John) Butkovic.

Dear brother of the late Concetta (Pasquale), Maria Giuseppina (Giuseppe), Giuseppe (Maria), Maria and Rosina. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Giacomo will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his hard work, always helping others when they needed it and his sense of humour.

The family wishes to thank the nurses at Bay Shore especially Sandy and Caitlin, the CCAC especially the palliative care nurse Julia Appleton, Dr. Lagrotteria and staff for their care and compassion during this difficult journey.

Visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME  “William J. Markey Chapel”,  947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, ON on Monday, October 12, 2015 from  2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and  6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, 63 Highway 20 East, Stoney Creek on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at     10 a.m. Entombment to follow.

Donations in honour of Giacomo to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
