GIGNAC, Michelle Patricia Gignac
July 23, 1997 - September 26, 2025
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, daughter, and granddaughter, Michelle Patricia Gignac, who passed away suddenly on September 26, 2025 in Longlac, ON, at the age of 28.
Michelle was born in Geraldton on July 23, 1997 and was raised in Longlac. As a child, Michelle made friends easily by playing hockey, karate, singing, and dancing in her living room, to name a few. She was a proud member of Long Lake #58 First Nation and took a big interest in her culture and roots. In her later years, she enjoyed spending quality time with her cherished daughter, Skylar, her family, her friends, and her fur babies. Her hobbies included blueberry picking, partridge hunting, crocheting, and cultural teachings and crafts. She was also teaching herself Cree and Finnish. Michelle was proudly working on her PSW program and was to finish in 2026. She was employed at Geraldton District Hospital as a support services aide, and was happy to work side-by-side with her two cousins.
Michelle is survived by her only daughter, Skylar Gignac; her mother, Sheila Ouellet (Yvan Carignan); her siblings, Steven Gignac (Paige) from Leduc, AB, Kayla Gignac of Timmins, ON, Mélanie Carbonneau (Joël) from Chelsea, QC, and Benoit Carignan from Dubuisson, QC; her grandparents, Raymond Ouellet of Longlac, ON, and Marie-Jeanne Gignac of Geraldton, ON; as well as her cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
