Our dear husband, father, brother, and uncle, Gilbert Pierre Gignac, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Lakeridge Health Ajax.

Gil was born in Rouyn, Quebec on June 14, 1941 to Eugene and Yvette Gignac. The family moved to Sarnia, Ontario where Gil spent his childhood, then he moved to Toronto in his late teenage years for an education in electronics. It was in Toronto that he met Beverley, the love of his life, who he married on October 19, 1968. Gil and Bev moved to Ajax in 1971 where they raised their family and have remained. Through the mid 1970’s, they welcomed Chantell (Desmond Rowley), Allison, and Adam (Rhiannon Smith). Gil was a loving grandfather to Emily, Adam (Alyssa Jones), Michaela, Adrian and Hannah, and great-grandfather to Liam.

Gil was a man of service, not words. He showed his love for Bev, his family and friends through his actions. Gil’s greatest pleasures were spending time with Bev and their family, and in the great outdoors.

Visitation will be held at McEachnie Funeral Home on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 4:00-8:00 pm. His memorial service will be the following day, Friday, May 30, 2025 at Forest Brook Community Church beginning at 11:00 am. For those unable to travel, the memorial will be made available via a live stream.
