Janet Ann Gilbert, a resident of Chatham, passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2025, at the age of 72.

Born in Chatham, Janet was the beloved daughter of the late Shirley and Margaret (née Papps) Gilbert. She is now reunited with her life partner, Mac.

Loving mother to Evan and Bryce (Vanessa), and proud grandmother to Grady, Cullen, Niko, and Michael. Cherished sister of Jo (Bob) Leach, and sister-in-law to Barb Gilbert. Predeceased by her siblings Walter (Barb) Gilbert, Lenora (Orren) Hooktwith, and Peter (Dorothy) Gilbert.

Janet will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honour on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at The Moose Lodge, 850 Richmond Street, Chatham, ON.

Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet’s memory to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
