GIRVAN, Tommy Girvan

Passed away on October 19, 2025 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at the age of 86.

Beloved husband of May for 65 wonderful years. Loving father of Jacqueline Arbuckle (Scott), Elaine Smith (Ron), Ian Girvan, and Derek Girvan. Cherished grandfather of Crystal, Caitlin (Evan), Michelle (Alex), Chelsea, Adam (Temeka), Connor (Jessica), Brandon, Daniel (Meaghan), Amy, and Gavin and great-grandfather of Hailey, Chace, Beau, Freya, Sydney, and William. Dear brother of Anne.

Before immigrating to Canada, Tommy was an active firefighter in Scotland. When he came to Canada, he started a career with the City of Toronto Works Department, where he retired from after many years of service.

Tommy enjoyed spending his retirement in the garden, tending to his rose bushes. He also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Cremation to take place.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association.
