LAWTON, Glen Campbell – Passed away at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance on December 28th, 2015 at the age of eighty-six.
Son of the late Earl and Ethel Lawton. Husband of Helen Jane (McCreary) Lawton. Survived by Helen, and daughter Dr. Laura Lawton and her husband Dr. David Weaver of Gold Coast, Australia. Son Darryl Glen Lawton and his wife Leslie of Erie, Pennsylvania, USA. One granddaughter Silvia Jane Lawton, and one grandson, Cameron Glen Lawton.
Survived by sister-in-law Rheta Lawton of Chatham. He is also survived by nephews and nieces, Marlene and Jouko Rantala (Neil, Carl, Eric) of Sudbury; Carolyn and Art Appleberg of Toronto; Stan and Michele Lawton (Zachary, Alexander); Kennon and Jane Lawton (Ian) of Harwich Township, Ross, Michele McCreary (Levi, Owen, Samantha), Lynn McCreary, Lorne and Wendy McCreary (Renee, Mark), Cheryl Lauwereys, all of Wallaceburg.
Predeceased by brother Keith Lawton (1984) and wife Jean Lawton, by brother Alex Lawton (1998), predeceased by brother-in-law Howard McCreary (2015) and wife Beverley McCreary.
Glen farmed his whole life in Raleigh Township. He loved his family, friends, farming, church and community. He was an Elder and member of First Presbyterian Church, Chatham, a member of Providence Social Club, a member and past Master of Parthenon Masonic Lodge 267, a thirty-second degree mason and member of Achon Shrine Club, Chatham.
Glen was very appreciative of the compassionate and excellent care he was given by Dr. Kate Bailey, Dr. Sherry Roszell, Dr. T Trihn, C.C.A.C., Bayshore nurses and the caring staff of C.K.H.A. chronic care during his lengthy illness.
Glen had many hours of enjoyment with visits from family and friends, Bob McColl and Rev. Mike Maroney of First Presbyterian Church, VON volunteers Bob Mann and also Jean of Ridgetown. There were many special people in Glen’s life journey. Very special sincere thanks to each and every one.
Cremation has taken place with interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
