GLENA, Patricia “Pat” Ann Glena

Patricia “Pat” Glena (née Finholm), age 63, passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2025, in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Born on July 15, 1961, in Fort William, Ontario, Pat was the daughter of the late Earl and Joan Finholm. She grew up surrounded by family and a deep love for animals—a passion that began in childhood as she brought home stray cats and dogs and carried into her life as a devoted advocate for animal rescue and care.

Pat’s professional journey was diverse. She worked in construction, scaling, and later held a management role at Tim Hortons before finding her calling in security at Thunder Bay Airport, where she served diligently for over two decades.

Family was the center of her world. Pat was first married to Roland Paddock, with whom she had one son, Dale. In 1995, she married Mike Glena and embraced her role as stepmother to Mikey Glena (partner Sally). She adored her grandchildren: Brooklynn Paddock, Michael (Swift Current), Kayden Stefurak, Wyatt, and Anastasia Glena.

Pat is lovingly missed by her Aunt Dolly, sisters Debra, Renee, and Deanne Finholm, as well as many nieces and nephews who will remember her vibrant spirit. Her 2 greatest loves were her dogs and her granddaughter Brooklynn.

She found joy in country music—especially Blackhawk—and cherished memories from attending Country Fest in Wisconsin with two of her sisters. She continued rescuing animals throughout her life and was dedicated to their care and training.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and announced on Facebook. In lieu of flowers, donations to local animal rescues would be appreciated—a fitting tribute to someone who always had room for one more fur kid.
