Mauricio Armas Gomes

October 4, 1941 – February 27, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mauricio Armas Gomes,
who peacefully left us on February 27, 2025, at Lisaard House Hospice in Cambridge,
surrounded by his loving family. He was 84 years old.

Mauricio’s greatest joy was his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife,
Maria Donatilia, who stood by his side through life’s joys and challenges.
He was a proud and loving father to Flavio (Nikki) and Nicholas,
and a devoted Papa to his cherished grandchildren, Savannah and Krishan.
He also shared a special bond with his loyal dog, Arturo.

Born in Flores, Azores, Portugal, Mauricio immigrated to Canada in 1969
with his wife and six-month-old son, building a beautiful legacy.
He was a cherished friend to many, both abroad and in his community.
In his final days, he found joy watching soccer games with his grandson Krishan.

Mauricio is now reunited in peace with his late brothers Alvaro,
Jose Maria, and Cristiano. He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Lourdes Gomes,
brother-in-law Heliodoro Camara, extended family, and friends.

Mauricio’s kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed.
His legacy of hard work, integrity, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Lisaard House Hospice
for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Lisaard House Hospice in Mauricio’s memory would be greatly appreciated.

Mass: March 6th | 12 PM | St. Mary of the Visitation Parish, Cambridge
Burial: Following Mass | New Hope Cemetery (please dress warmly)
Luncheon: Following burial | St. Mary of the Visitation Parish
