GRAY, Lance Alexander Gray

Passed away surrounded by the love of his family on December 7, 2025 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at the age of 74.

Beloved husband of Rika Byrne. Loving father of Rebecca Gray (Scott), Lance Gray Jr., and Ryan Byrne (Adrianna). Cherished grandfather of Remi. Dear brother of the late Ron and survived by his sisters Lynda and Christina.

Lance will be fondly remembered by many family and friends.

A natural storyteller, he had an unmatched gift for spinning tales that could captivate anyone within earshot-whether the stories were bold adventures, quiet reflections, or humorous recollections that left everyone laughing. He didn’t just tell stories; he brought people together through them.

An adventure lover at heart, he lived life with a fearless spirit and a curiosity that never dimmed. His love for animals was just as deep and the animals seemed to sense his kind soul.

He was also a loyal and steadfast Toronto Maple Leafs fan through every season, every hope, and every heartbreak. No matter the scoreboard, his devotion never wavered. He cheered with pride and always believed that ‘next year’ would be their year.

Above all, he was someone who made people feel seen, valued, and entertained. His stories, his laughter, and his generous spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Lance’s Life, in his style with lots of food, great stories, and happy memories, will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 2-5 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa).
