GRECO, Adamantonio “Tony” Greco
February 3, 1939 - March 2, 2026It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Adamantonio Greco, known to all who loved him as Tony, who passed away suddenly on March 2, 2026, at the age of 87.
Born February 3, 1939, in Ururi, Italy, Tony carried his Italian roots with pride throughout his life. He built a life grounded in family, friendship, hard work, and the simple joys that meant the most.
He was a devoted and proud father, and he shared five beautiful children with Celine. He will be remembered by his children Shawn (Kim), Claudia, Laura (Greg), Anthony (Christine), and Selina. His greatest joy was his family, and he carried deep pride for each of his children. Tony was a cherished and loving Papa to Jordan, Gavin, Ayden, Leah, Kyah, Lily, Zen, Charlie, Lennox, Lucy, and Onyx. Nothing brought him more happiness than time spent with his grandchildren, sharing stories, laughter, and quiet moments together.
Tony was predeceased by his beloved parents, Anna Maria and Gennaro Greco and by his sister, Valerie (Nick). He is survived by his loving sister Phyllis (Lorne), his brother Gino, with whom he shared a lifelong bond and many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He had a deep love for the outdoors and spent many years hunting and enjoying the open road. He treasured road trips across Canada, driving for miles with Frank Sinatra playing on the radio, the scenery passing by as memories were made. He enjoyed the excitement of soccer and was an avid fan of Formula 1 racing. In recent years, he also found enjoyment in watching YouTube videos, always curious and entertained by the world at his fingertips. A familiar and friendly presence at his morning coffee gatherings at Commisso’s Fresh Foods, Tony valued community and connection. He loved his friends dearly and never missed an opportunity for conversation, laughter, or storytelling.
Above all, Tony will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his steady presence, and the legacy of strength and devotion he leaves behind. His memory will live on in the traditions he started, the stories he told, and the love he gave so freely.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The family will receive their friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 5 to 8 p.m. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
