GREENWOOD, Denise Greenwood
August 30, 2025
Christ’s loyal and faithful servant, was called home by her Lord on August 30, 2025, in her 67th year. Denise is predeceased by parents Norman and Betty Greenwood of Strathroy.
Cherished sister of Shelley Greenwood-Klatt (husband Greg) of Fenelon Falls and brother Allan Greenwood of Wasaga Beach. Loved by her nephew Mitchell Klatt (wife Marina) and niece Alanna Marques (husband Hernani).
Denise adored the newest family members, children of Mitchell and Marina (Elianna) and Alanna and Hernani (Keanu).
Born and raised in Strathroy, Ontario Denise always considered it home despite many years in London, Ontario.
Denise was the kindest, most loving, most generous person with a deeply caring soul. Denise forever championed the underdog and her true passion was animal welfare. She inherited the Greenwood-Scott trait that placed all animals and pets on the highest pedestal although Denise took it to new heights.
Denise devoted her time to rescue agencies caring for animals and spent her time volunteering and finding homes for rescue cats. Denise’s love for cats was renowned and she personally adopted the hard-to-place cats.
All who met Denise loved her wit and sense of humour. It was impossible to leave Denise’s home without a big smile and hearty meal and if your timing was good, a few bottles of homemade wine too.
As a Christian, Christmas was a special time of the year and always meant for family and friends. A beautiful Christmas meal was always planned in her home and you could count on Christmas crackers, silly hats, and Christmas sweaters.
Taken from her earthly life too early, Denise will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, but we know she is reunited with other family and friends and with heavenly mobility.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church in Strathroy or any local animal rescue agency of your choice, in the name of Karen Denise Greenwood.
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19.
A private family graveside service occurred on September 4th, 2025, at Strathroy Cemetery officiated by First Baptist Pastor Dave Adams. A Celebration of Life will be announced for Spring, 2026 in Strathroy for family and friends.
