GREENWOOD, Margaret Joan Greenwood
February 5, 1931 - October 27, 2025
Secretary to Vogue and BOAC in post-war London. Schoolteacher’s wife in Alexandria, Windsor and Düsseldorf. Homemaker and expert seamstress in Powell River, bringing bespoke European fashion to a coastal mill town (including once making kilts for an entire pipe band). Proud wife and mother of naval officers. Keen gardener, traveller, photographer, domestic economist and family archivist. Tireless, prolific letter-writer (when that used to be a thing). An enduring image of style, grace and silent strength (although increasingly chatty and given to singing in later years).
Lovingly remembered by sons Nigel (Deborah), Richard (Monika) and Kevin (Kim), and her expanding family of 7 grandchildren (and spouses) and 3 great-grandchildren.
Forever in our memories as she was in her best days.
Many thanks to staff at Birch Cottage of VIHA’s Priory for their loving care of Mum over the last couple years.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
