GREENWOOD , Robert John “Bob” Greenwood
April 25, 1939 - August 28, 2025
Robert John Greenwood “Bob” passed away peacefully at home on August 28th with his loving wife of 61 years, Marilyn Greenwood (née Davis), by his side.
Originally from a family farm on Wolfe Island, Bob moved to Kingston to start his career. Over the years, he established himself as a skilled mechanic, successful business owner, and farm equipment dealer. He had a deep love of the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. His greatest passion, though, was aviation. Flying his float plane gave him the chance to bring these pursuits together, taking him to remote parts of Canada that would have been otherwise out of reach.
After retiring, Bob and Marilyn enjoyed touring in their motorhome, spending winters in Florida, and spending time with family and friends.
Bob will be deeply missed by his children, Lynda Rickards and Leath (Shirley) Greenwood. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Kathleen, Robert (Courtney), Alyssa (Dina), and Melanie, and great-grandchildren Jayse and Oaklyn.
He is survived by his siblings Ben (Myrna), Leo (Sandra), Colleen (Vincent), Doreen (Des), Kathy (Dennis), and John (Diane). Bob was predeceased by his parents, Kathleen (née Hulton) and Oliver Greenwood.
A private graveside service will be held for close family and friends. All are welcome to join the family for a reception at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston (please enter from the rear parking lot) on Wednesday, September 3rd, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH).
Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at James Reid Funeral Home.
