GREER, Gloria Ann Scott Greer

With profound sadness, the family of Gloria Ann (Greer) Scott announces her peaceful passing, after a long and difficult illness, on September 4, 2025, at Rideaucrest Nursing Home, Kingston.
Born on April 21, 1944, at the Grace Hospital in Ottawa, Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and faithful friend.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Neil; her children Kathy Forbes (Jamie), Sherri Merkley (Steve), and Rob Scott; her cherished grandchildren Alyssa Hudson (Skylar), Keira Dier (Mike), Connor Merkley (Kara), Jami-Lea Forbes (Steve), Scott Forbes (Angela), and Maclayne Forbes (Tyler); and nine great-grandchildren: Camden, Greer, Ava, Cooper, Reece, Silas, Baylee, Collins, and Calihan. Gloria will also be deeply missed by her dear sister Mary-Ellen Martin (Mike) and sister-in-law Mary Mulligan (Ian). She was predeceased by her beloved parents, George and Gwen Greer, and brother-in-law Donald (Murdie) Scott.
Gloria dedicated her life to her family, always offering a welcoming ear, a warm embrace, and unwavering support. She was also a long-time, dedicated employee of Rideau Lakes Golf Club, where she made everyone feel welcome at their favourite pastime.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Rideaucrest Home for their exceptional care and support during challenging times.
Gloria’s ashes will be laid to rest at the family plot in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Westport. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 28, from 2:30–4:30 p.m. at The Westport Legion.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Scotland Funeral Home, Elgin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Westport Lions Mobility Bus, the Westport Library (c/o Village of Westport), or to an organization of your choice.
