
Eunice Ardeth Griffin (née Small) passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, at the age of 95, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario. Eunice was an exceptional woman whose life was filled with love, resilience, and unwavering faith.
Born in 1930 on her parents’ homestead near Boulter, Ontario, she overcame early hardships following her mother’s passing and was raised by relatives in Arnprior. Eunice began working at a young age and later found refuge with Reverend and Mrs. Brynle Owen. She met and married Jack Griffin in 1948, with whom she raised seven sons across Ontario and British Columbia.
Eunice’s life was marked by deep spirituality, community involvement, and an insatiable love for travel. Her storytelling and wisdom inspired countless people through church ministries and personal encounters. She traveled extensively with Jack and continued her adventurous spirit even after his diagnosis and passing in 2005.
Eunice was predeceased by her beloved husband Jack, sons Patrick and Michael, sister Edith, and brother Roland. She is survived by her sons Paul (Sharon), Daniel (Margaret), John (Sylvia), Brynle (Faith), and Timothy, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, her brother Harold, and daughter-in-law Linda.
A service of interment will take place at St. John’s Kanata North Anglican Church Cemetery, 325 Sandhill Rd, Kanata, Ontario, on Friday, July 25th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
Donations in Eunice’s memory may be made to Teen Challenge, a ministry she supported throughout her life.
