GROENEWEGEN , Jane Groenewegen (nee Brouwer)

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Jane Groenewegen (nee Brouwer) on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the age of 84. Jane is now resting in the arms of her Savior. Beloved wife of Ted for 61 years. Loving mother of Ida, Neil, George, and Audrey (Karl). Cherished Grandma of Celynn (Colin), Crystal (Samo), Nicole, Lyndsay (Ryan), Taylor (Noah), and Brandon, and great-Grandma of Conor, Brynley, and Theo.

Jane is survived by her siblings and their spouses: Kay (†Dennis) DeVries, †Ted (†Helen) Brouwer, †Phillip (†Teunie) Brouwer, Irene (Roger) Konyndyk, Elsie (John) Boersma, †Gerda Brouwer, Nel (John) Schuurman, Jackie (†Gerald) Hogeterp, John (Aria) Groenewegen, Marian (Ward) Hann, Louise (Bob) Bruinsma, Earl (Mary) Groenewegen. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Jane will be remembered for her love of her family, for flowers, and for the Lord. Her love for organ playing hymns filled her home with joy.

The family would like to express their special thanks to the caregivers at Cama Woodlands for their compassion and exceptional care for Jane.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 4–7 pm at Kitching, Steepe & Ludwig Funeral Home, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown. The Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 11 am. A private family interment will precede the service at Burlington Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Cama Woodlands in memory of Jane would be appreciated by the family.
