GROTH, Archie Kenneth Groth

Passed away peacefully at Oak Ridges Hospice, Port Perry on November 1, 2025. Born in Minnesota on July 17, 1943, Archie proudly served in the United States Air Force in England, where he met the love of his life, Susan. Together, they made their home in Oshawa, where they spent more than 50 wonderful years.

Archie was predeceased by his beloved wife, Susan, with whom he built a lifetime of love and memories over 60 years together. He will be lovingly remembered by his children — David (Christina), Jennifer (Stephen) and Christopher (Sara). He will also be cherished and missed by his grandchildren: Gillian, Gemma, Alexander (Rachel), Emma (Ian), Adam, Chloe (Riley) and Jennifer (Jay) and family.

He was predeceased by his brother Melroy (Elvina), and will be deeply missed by his sisters Sylvia (late Lowell) and Ardell (late Roger). He will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

An entrepreneur, Archie was the proud owner and operator of Phoenix Transportation bus company for many years. A strong leader, he was known for his dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic.

At his core, Archie was a humble and caring man. He was an avid gardener and lifelong tinkerer, happiest when puttering around in his garden or working on a new project around the house. Some of his most treasured memories were the times he and Susan shared together on the East Coast, where they found peace and joy in the simple moments.

Above all, Archie was a devoted grandfather who loved spending time with his grandchildren and was endlessly proud of each of them. His warmth, quiet humour and steadfast love will be remembered by all who knew him.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. In memory of Archie, donations may be made to the Oak Ridges Hospice whose compassionate care provided comfort in his final days.
