GRUNDY, Brenda Grundy

It is with heavy hearts that we share the peaceful passing of Brenda Grundy (nee Gazey) on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the age of 87 years. Brenda was a devoted and loving wife to Brien (predeceased) for 65 years.  She leaves behind a legacy of love and family. Brenda was a proud mother to Steve (Jeannie), Don (Judy), and Cathy (predeceased). Her love extended to her cherished grandchildren, Angela, Marc (Isabelle), Elise (Mark), Kelsie (Derek), Matthew, and Stephanie (Jason) as well as her great-grandchildren Emily, Charlie, Ella, Liam, Claire, and Leo. She was very much loved by her dear sister Rosemary (Hans), cherished brother Bob (Barbara), sister in-law-Pat (Peter), and brother-in-law Gary, (predeceased) (Ann).

Brenda was born to George and Mary Gazey in Toronto. After marrying the love of her life, Brien, they raised their family in Guildwood Village. Brenda adored her family and was a passionate and active member of Ferndale Baptist Church in Scarborough and later at Uxbridge Baptist Church, teaching children, visiting seniors and serving God in various other ways.

Brenda thoroughly enjoyed nature and spent many years with her family at the family cottage on Buckhorn Lake, often accompanied by her mother.

Brenda was a passionate knitter, an excellent baker, and a naturally creative and thoughtful person. She always had a project on the go,  knitting baby blankets and clothes, working on crafts, or painting. Her artistic talents extended to landscapes and portraits, capturing real-life moments inspired by family, nature, and cottage life. She was especially known for her world-class short bread which was a family favourite that she lovingly perfected over the years.

Brenda always put family first and she was such a great mom to Steve, Don, and Cathy.  She had a generous heart and opened her home to many.

Brenda passed away just over six months after her dear and loving husband, Brien. They had such a strong, amazing, love for each other that will be everlasting. Brenda was much loved by many and will be forever and deeply missed.
