GUENETTE, Jean-Guy Guenette

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Jean-Guy Guenette at the West Nipissing General Hospital, with his loving family by his side, on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Jean-Guy was the loving partner of Claire Brown. He was the proud father of Jean-Marc (Diane), Michel (Corinne), Sylvie (Tim), Shantal (Serge), Eric (Melanie), and stepfather to Mike (Amanda) and Steve (Chantal).

He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Stéphane, Dominique, Lisa, Patrick, Andrée, Chanèle, Chloé, Todd, Phélix, Kamille, and by his step-grandchildren to Karlee, Brooke and Kayla. He was a proud great-grandfather to Michel, Alex, and Maxime.

Jean-Guy is also survived by his siblings Simone, René (Lise), Pauline (Roger), Laurent (Anita), and John (Gisèle).

He was predeceased by his parents Jean-Jules and Laura Guenette, and his brothers Norm (Paulette) and Roger (Suzanne).

Jean-Guy will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including camping, playing the piano, dancing, and singing. His grandchildren brought him immense joy to his life, and he especially loved spending time playing bingo with his children. Many wonderful memories were made at his trailer at Dutrisac Campground, a place that held a special spot in his heart.

Family will be receiving friends at Paroisse Sacré-Coeur in Sturgeon Falls, on Saturday March 21, 2026 at 9 am. A funeral mass will follow at 10 am.
