HAAF, Cecil Lawrence Haaf
August 13, 1942 - September 27, 2025
Cecil passed away suddenly after a prolonged illness, on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Born in Revenue, Saskatchewan, his family moved to the lower mainland when he was about 7.
He loved his job as a truck driver in logging camps on the coast of BC, which he did for about 30 years, until he was forced to retire after surviving a major medical emergency. After retirement, he volunteered with the Telus Ambassadors helping to raise money for many charities and filling stockings for children and the homeless at Christmas time.
He is survived by Margaret, his wife of 50 years and their son, Tim. His sister-in-law Maryalice, his sister Linda, her daughter Ricki-Lynn (Dave) and their 4 children, his honorary grandchildren Lauren, Jack, Olivia and Emma. As well as his many nieces and nephews from his large family. Predeceased by his parents George, Cecilia, step mom Ann and siblings; Mike, Vicki, Emelia, Ed, Jerome, and George.
He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, located at 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver, BC. The service is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
