HAGGERTY, Anne Shields Haggerty

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Anne Shields Haggerty announces her peaceful passing, surrounded by the love of her family, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on October 18, 2025, in her 88th year.

Anne was the beloved wife and best friend of Fred Haggerty, with whom she shared 63 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

She was the loving mother of Denise, Dianne, and Laurna (James). Proud and devoted grandmother of Victoria (Andrea) and Emily (Brandon), and adoring great-grandmother—affectionately known as Great-Gran—to Leo, who brought her endless joy.

Anne was a dear sister to Michael (Tillie) and James, and was predeceased by her parents William & Margaret and her sister Patsy. She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends both here in Canada and in Scotland, where her roots and heart remained deeply connected.

Anne lived her life with warmth, kindness, and a wonderful sense of humour. She was an avid Blue Jays fan, and her family takes comfort in knowing she’ll be cheering them on through the playoffs from above. She loved to travel and cruise, exploring new places with Fred and dear friends, collecting memories wherever she went. Above all else, her greatest joy was her family—she cherished every visit, every shared meal, and every laugh together.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Anne’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honour her memory and the beautiful legacy of love she leaves behind.
