With great love and remembrance, we announce the peaceful passing of Helen Mary Hamilton (née Haid) on the early morning of May 18, 2025, at Strathroy Middle General Hospital, at the age of 102.
Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alan Clayton Hamilton (1999), her parents Albert and Clara Haid (née Stinson), and her five brothers: Earl, Pat, Arthur, Cecil, and Norman.
Raised on a farm in Mornington Township, Hesson, Helen and Alan moved to Strathroy in 1946, where they established Hamilton’s Bakery. They joyfully adopted and raised five children: Patrick (Joanne), Carol Carrol-Stankus (Charlie, deceased 2022), Peter (Sandra), Craig (Sylvia Sawro), and Mary Hamilton McComiskey.
Helen’s loving legacy continues through 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A woman of grace and quiet strength, Helen loved gardening, traveling, and time at the family cottage on Lake Huron. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone around her.
