Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, Winnifred Ruth Hamilton passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the age of 91.

Beloved wife of the late Ralph Francis Hamilton (1998). Loving mother of Ruth (William) Root, Deb McKenney, and the late Jim Hamilton (2018). Cherished grandmother of Michelle (Jamie Burgess) and Dylan Hamilton (Terri-Lynn). Treasured great-grandmother of Taylor Burgess, Amy Burgess, Tucker Hamilton, Brantley Hamilton, and Beau Hamilton, and great-great-grandmother of Brynn Lee Balkind and River Don Timothy Taylor.

Survived by Betty Hamilton, Penny Hamilton, and Ray Hamilton, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents James and Marjorie Riley, her sister Marjory (Beverly) Smith, brother Charles (Marlita) Riley, and by in-laws Francis and Lillian Hamilton, Eva and Fred Smith, Harry Hamilton, Donna and Robert Graham, Robert Hamilton, and John Hamilton.

Winnie volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society for an extraordinary 60 years. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at Moore Union Cemetery on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
