HANCOCK, Marilyn K.A. (nee Forder)-retired Foster Brooke Long-Term Care Home Nursing employee & Bowmanville Memorial Hospital, long term member of Rebekah Lodge and Orono United Church.

Peacefully at Glen Hill Strathaven Nursing Home on Thursday May 1, 2025 in her 92nd year.

Marilyn, beloved wife for 53 years of the late Gary Hancock, and close friend of Stewart Wood of Orono. Loving mother of Douglas (Fran) of Flin Flon, Manitoba, and also proud mother of Annette Fegan and her husband Paul of Newcastle. Sadly missed by grandchildren Crystal Assie (Terry), Brad Hancock (Jalene), Sinead Meraw (Brett), Eilish Fegan (Liam) and Pierce Fegan. Dear Great Grandma of Cruz & Kaybrie Assie, Casey & Collins Clark.

Dear Sister of Harold Forder (Norma), Lucille Sturrock (late Gordon), Donna Wright (late Don) and predeceased by siblings: Howard Forder (late Dorothy), Donald Forder (late Gloria), Brother in law Brian Hancock, and Sister in law Eleanor Perrin (late Jack). Sister in law of Sue Hancock and Mother in law of Janet Hancock. Cherished as fun Auntie Marilyn by her many Nieces & Nephews.

In the years before her illness Mom loved her cottage at Salmon Lake, watching her grandchildren play hockey or going out to have a visit with them in Manitoba, attending church, and daily coffee with all her friends at the Orono Country Cafe.

Following Marilyn’s wishes, Visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliot Funeral Home in Bowmanville Tuesday May 13th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service will occur at 2:00 on Wednesday May 14th at the Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home. Private family interment at a later date at the Orono Cemetery.

Douglas and Annette wish to thank the dedicated Staff at the Glen Hill Strathaven Nursing Home that Mom had resided at for several years, and who took wonderful care of our sweet Mom.
