HARDY, Kenneth Robert Hardy
December 8, 1942 - October 31, 2025
Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025 with his devoted wife, Linda, by his side. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Helen; sisters Lorna and Berna; and brothers George, Larry, and Dale. Ken’s life was a testament to resilience, dedication, and an unshakeable can-do spirit that inspired all who knew him. Born December 8, 1942 in Midale, Saskatchewan, Ken carried the spirit of the prairies where he wasn’t afraid of hard work, but also enjoyed the finer things in life. A lover of sunshine and open water, he found peace and joy in the simple beauty of nature or the many paintings on their walls. A day spent in the bright sun was a day well-lived. This was particularly known at their cottage on Echo Lake, 11 years at their home in West Kelowna, and 17 winters in Arizona. A psychologist by profession and heart, Ken dedicated his life to helping others find clarity, strength, and hope. His empathy and wisdom touched countless lives, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and care. This was aided by his grounding and active participation in AA for 42 years, along with being a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Regina, and Grace Lutheran Church in West Kelowna. Ken had a deep love of sports, always cheering for his favourite teams, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Saskatchewan Roughriders, through every win and loss. His enthusiasm and optimism were contagious, much like his laughter and his ability to find the good in people. Above all, Ken loved his family. He was a devoted husband of 60 years to Linda. Together, they had four wonderful boys and their spouses: Bryan (Maggie), Kevin (Haley), Darren (Kim), Steven (Jill); eight cherished grandchildren: Erin, Matisse, Christian, Corinne, Kelsie, Stellan, Cohl, and Owen; and many extended family members and friends. Ken’s life will be remembered as one of purpose, kindness, and love. His steady presence, his humour, and his unwavering belief in the goodness of people will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Ken’s Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in the Spring. Details to be announced.
