HARMAN, Charlotte Anne Harman

A resident of Chatham, Charlotte Anne Harman  passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on September 21, 2025 at the age of 83.

Born in Chatham, Charlotte was the daughter of Ralph and Margaret (née Bradley) Williston.

Beloved wife of 56 years to the late David Harman.

Loving mother of Karen Harman and Amy (Dalas) Forget.

Proud grandmother of Nathan and Sarah Stewart and Henry Forget.

Sadly missed by sister Carolyn (Robert) Dietrich and brother-in-law Keith (Bronwen) Harman. Predeceased by sister-in-law Helen (the late Donald) Robertson.

Loving Aunt of Jeff (Elaine), Jill, Brett (Marianne), Heather (Darren), Gwendolen, and Jennifer.

Great-Aunt to Emily, Jack, Nicole, Gabriel, Samuel, Grace, Edward, Benjamin, Jacob, and the late John.

Born June 2, 1942, in Chatham, Charlotte was raised in Louisville, ON. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario in 1964 and later attended Teacher’s College at the University of Toronto. Charlotte taught grade seven in Perdu, IL, and grades 11, 12, and 13 later in Toronto. Upon the arrival of their first daughter, Karen, in 1969, Charlotte became a stay-at-home mom.

In 1973, she and David moved to London, ON and welcomed their second daughter, Amy. In the early 90s, Charlotte and David built their beloved home in Komoka, during which time she enjoyed working as an executive assistant at a private company in London until her retirement.

Upon David’s death in 2020, Charlotte moved from Komoka to her hometown of Chatham, where she remained until her passing. Charlotte had diverse creative talents and was an avid gardener, knitter, crocheter, sewist, and card-maker. She was happiest in her craft room, at her card-making groups, or sewing costumes for local productions. Charlotte was fiercely independent, impeccably organized, and always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. Charlotte was devoted in her faith, attending Riverside United Church in London and later, St. Andrew’s United Church in Chatham.

Charlotte loved her family, was proud of her “girls”, and later was known as “Grandma”, a role that she cherished. She will be greatly missed.
