DEMERS, Harold ‘Harry’ – (September 4, 1940 – September 30, 2015) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harry peacefully with his family at his side, after a courageous fight with cancer.

He leaves behind his loving wife Ruth, his sister Gail, sons Mike (Yvonne), Robert (Nathalie) and grandchildren Melissa, Emily, Vanessa and Ryan. Loving son of the late Harold and Eileen Demers.

Retired in 1999 after 41-plus years at MetLife. Harry will be missed by his many friends at MetLife, Meadows Golf and Country Club and the Legion.

Many thanks for the wonderful care at the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre, the General Hospital and the Elisabeth Bruyere Palliative Care Unit.

A Celebration of Harry’s Life will be held on Wednesday, October 7th at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, Ontario at 1:30 p.m. A Reception will follow. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bruyere Foundation-Palliative Care in Harry’s memory would be greatly appreciated.
