HARSTONE, Maxine Harstone

On November 7, 2025, a bright light in the world was extinguished… Maxine will be lovingly remembered by her family and many friends.

Born in Vancouver, BC, on January 20, 1955, Maxine was the first granddaughter of Maria “Oma” and Alois “Opa” Muelheder. She was also the eldest child of Max and Margorie Kathleen (née Tipping) Muelleder. She is survived by her 3 brothers: Michael Lindley Muelleder, Mark Lindsey Muelleder, and Miles Lyndon Muelleder. Maxine loved to travel the world. She made her home in Vancouver until 2011, when she moved to Kelowna.

Maxine was always up for a party, and as her brother Mike says, “She was always a social butterfly. She spent most of her time socializing with her friends.” Everybody who ever met her fell in love with her and became fast friends. As one of her great friends, Bob Hazel, said, “From the first day I met her, she became my best friend forever… She was my soulmate and I loved her dearly… I will miss her tremendously!” All of her friends feel the same way. Even as she was in the hospital, she made many friends who felt the same. She had an unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness everywhere she went. She had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.

Although Maxine’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.
