HARTLING , Heather “Anne” Hartling

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Heather “Anne” Hartling. Best friend and loving partner of Steve D. McDougall. She leaves behind her daughter Shannon Dawn Andeel, father William E. Hartling, sister Bonnie and brother-in-law Byron Hansler. Predeceased by her daughter Gillian Andeel and her mother Eleanor Hartling (née Mundle). She will be greatly missed by Stanley and Gloria McDougall, Rory McDougall, and Niki Polgar. Anne was also Nannie Annie to grandson Dawson McDougall.

Anne was born in Fredericton, NB, and spent her childhood in the province. She developed a taste for shellfish early on and never passed up a chance to enjoy lobster. During her formative years in Ottawa, she enjoyed adventures, learned to sew, and even made her own clothes. She later moved to Kitchener, building a long and successful career with Kodak Canada.

Following her retirement, Anne and Steve built a home in Innerkip. There, she became a passionate vegetable gardener, starting seeds in the off-season and harvesting in the fall. She loved making sauce from her harvests, often sharing her creations with friends and family. She found joy in the simple things—watching hummingbirds and cardinals, lounging in her hammock, and listening to her beloved CBC radio programs on warm afternoons.

Cremation has taken place. Interment will be at Innerkip Cemetery as per her wishes. To all who knew her, keep a warm place in your heart for her.

We love you and miss you dearly. You are truly one of a kind. xo

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home.
