ARMSTRONG, Harvey Alexander  –

November 24, 1936 – July 24, 2023

Physician (52 years) and Child Psychiatrist (43 years) Harvey Alexander Armstrong died peacefully, on Monday, July 24, 2023, in Kingston, Ontario, after fighting a lengthy illness.

An award-winning, pioneering child psychiatrist and a passionate champion of First Nations People, survivors of sexual abuse, and many others, Harvey was a loving father to Frank Armstrong.

He also leaves behind his wife and friend of 55 years, Mary Armstrong (separated); his friend, Joanne Jackson; his granddaughter, Abigail Armstrong; his daughter-in-law, Julie Smith; and his younger brother, Peter Armstrong.

The son of Frederick Cecil Armstrong and Catriona Margaret Armstrong (Macquisten), he had two other siblings who predeceased him: Patricia and Frederick Armstrong.

A celebration of life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the Kingston Unitarian Fellowship, 244 McMahon Ave., Kingston.
