HASTINGS, John Andrew Hastings

HASTINGS, John Andrew  –  Aged 87, passed away on October 17, 2023, at Belleville General Hospital with his loving daughter, Denise, by his side.

Born on May 28, 1936, in Toronto, Ontario to Peter (Earl) and Dorothy (Emma) Hastings.

John was an avid sportsman growing up in Toronto.

He played in the Toronto Beaches Fastball League and once scored 9 goals in a Toronto High School championship game played at Maple Leaf Gardens.

Family was always very important to John and he was able to spend even more time with family upon his retirement from IBM.

John was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy; and brother, Ron.

He is survived by his daughter, Denise; son, David; and grandchildren, Renee, Austin, and Chelsie.

He is also survived by siblings, Joan, Ted, and Sue.

Per John’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. John will be interred with his wife, Dorothy, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Brighton Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario would be appreciated.
