HAUGEN, Agnes Mary Haugen

Peacefully, surrounded by her family, Agnes Mary Haugen (née Buch) passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Waterloo Region Health Network Hospital at the age of 89.

Beloved wife of the late Norman Haugen. Loving mother of Patricia (Rob), Kevin (Emily), Paula, Jacqueline (John), and Jeffrey. Cherished grandmother to Morgan, Brianna, Brayden, Zachary, Riley, and Nate, and great-grandmother to Mila and Ryley.

Born in Barry’s Bay, Ontario to Francis Buch and Anna Blaskavitch, Agnes’ life was a testament to faith, family, and unwavering kindness. She dedicated herself to raising her family alongside Norman and brought her boundless talents to many roles—hairdresser, restaurant owner, seamstress, caregiver, baker, and florist. She was a long-time parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church, where she shared her talents and faith with the community.

Agnes found joy in simple pleasures, especially sharing a cup of tea or a glass of wine around the kitchen table with family and friends. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters Rose Llewellyn, Barbara Visneskie, and Margaret Jackson; brothers Leonard (Marcella), Florien (Sheila), and Abbie (Colleen) Buch; brother-in-law Bruce Haugen (Louise); sister-in-law Sharon Benigno; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was predeceased by her brothers Sylvester, Ambrose, John, and Louis Buch.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Lanark Heights, Kitchener for their care and compassion during Agnes’ final years.

The family of Agnes Haugen will receive friends at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1710 Scugog Street, Port Perry, on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Father Silva officiating. Interment to take place at Pine Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you perform a random act of kindness in Agnes’ memory.
