HAY , James Jim E Hay

With his hardworking hands at rest and his family by his side, James (“Jim”) Edwin Hay of Sombra passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the age of 76. Born in Chatham, he was the oldest son of the late Edwin and Kathleen (Flynn) Hay.

Celebrating 50 years together, Jim is survived by his loving wife Anne (Rowley) Hay. Loving and cherished father of Carolyn Hay, Kristen (Matt) Campbell, and Kevin (Kaila Cadotte) Hay. Devoted papa to Gregory Hay, Dracen, and Camden Campbell. Dear brother of Ellen (the late Tom) Atkins, Tim (Cyndi) Hay, Mark (Marianne) Hay, and the late Stephen Hay. Kind brother-in-law of Joan (the late Bob) Rymal, Brian (Sherry) Rowley, and Sandra (Richard “Pork”) Gray. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Jim worked for many years at NuGro while pursuing his passion for farming. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and socializing in his shed. He strived to instill the value of hard work and farm life in his children and grandchildren and took great pride in supporting his grandchildren in their many activities.

Family and friends will be received at Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd., 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass celebration will take place on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church in Port Lambton. Cremation will follow.
