HEATHORN, Robert Heathorn

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Bob on January 27, 2026.

Husband of the late Laura Heathorn. Father of Carlene (Larry), Victoria (Trevor), and Ken (pre-deceased).  Beloved grumpy of Carter, Dallas, Jett, Tyler, Brittany, and Cadence. Brother in law to Rene.

Obsessed with trains from an early age, you could usually find Bob taking pictures of trains, hanging out at the station chatting about trains to others, or working on his model railroad. He made friends easily with his sense of humour and gregarious nature. His home was always open to visitors and it was not uncommon for someone to stop by at any given time of day.

He loved sitting outside on his deck in the warmer months, Myrtle Beach, road trips, photography, football, and enjoying the simple things in life. Everyone he met had a nickname given to them.

He was a Marine war veteran who served many tours overseas before coming back to his Canadian roots.

Heartfelt thank you to Dr Popiel,  the nurses and support staff at Perth War Memorial Hospital, Winchester Memorial Hospital, and Rene Beaupré for their continued commitment of care over the past few years and final days of Bob’s life.
