HELMER, Don Helmer

Passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 19, 2025, Don Helmer of Winchester, age 83.  Loving husband of Linda Helmer (nee McLean) for 57 1/2 years.  Loving father of Scott (Angela) of Reids Mills, Lisa Helmer (Pat Deevey) of Kingston and Kevin Helmer (Angie) of Chesterville.  Dear brother-in-law of Earl Windsor of Winchester, Beverly Barkley (Robert) of Chesterville and Joanne McMahon (late Brian) of Crysler.  Don will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Josh, Sam, Morgan, Joey, Ty and Mason.  He was predeceased by his parents Harlan and Leila Helmer (nee Flegg) and his sister Darlene Windsor. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.

Funeral Arrangements

A Celebration of Don’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Chesterville on Tuesday, December 23rd from 1-3 p.m.  Memories will be shared at 2 p.m.  Donations to Dundas County Hospice or Maple Ridge Cemetery would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.  If you are making your donation online or by cheque directly to the charity, please include the following note with your gift “Please notify the family.”  Online condolences may be made at marsdenmclaughlin.com.
