On Saturday December 27,2025 at the Norfolk General Hospital, we said our final goodbyes to Terry as he left his place here on earth to be united with his parents in his eternal home.
Beloved husband and best friend of Ruth Ann for 56 years. Loving dad and special papa to Mike [Katelyn] and their children Charlotte and Isabella . Rob and his children Malia, Alaya, Mikah, Izaak and Shepard.
He was a former employee of the American Can in Simcoe for 25 years until it closed in May 1991. During this time, he made many good friends, and they became his second family. After the closure of the factory, he started his own painting business “ T.H.’S Painting “ in 1993 and operated it for 25 years. He really enjoyed working for his customers especially the seniors. He was always a hard worker, put forth his best effort and was always proud of his work.
He loved the outdoors both fishing and hunting. Fishing on the Thames River, the northern lakes around Geraldton, and Lake Erie. For 40 plus years he journeyed every fall to go moose hunting in northern Geraldton.
He loved the game of baseball. Younger years he played with Walsingham Senators as a pitcher winning many championships including “ OBA”. After he hung up his cleats he helped organize minor baseball in Norfolk County. He coached the minor teams showing them how to play that game with his skills & knowledge.
Predeceased by his parents Ron & Ruth [Price] Helmer, his father & mother-in-law Charlie & Edna Moore, brother-in-laws George Gates and Gary Ferris.
