Moreault HenriMOREAULT, Henri Blackburn  – It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Henri Moreault, who died at home, on July 23, 2023, at the age of 90.

 

He was raised primarily by his cherished grandfather, Henri Blackburn, predeceased by his parents, Gerard and Rollande Moreault, and his younger brothers, Michele and Pierre Moreault.

 

Survived by his beloved wife, Donna, of 33 years and best pal and brother-in-law, Lorne.

 

fter graduating from St. Lawrence University Henri, a passionate lover of jazz, opened the Circus Lounge Jazz club in Hull, Quebec in 1956 bringing in top jazz artists of the day.

 

He then embarked on a successful career in the investment industry in New York, and later Sun Valley, Idaho.

 

Henri’s proudest achievement was as co-founder, in 1969, of the Directors’ Invitational Ski Classic, (originally called the Moreault Cup), the world’s oldest and most prestigious invitation-only Pro-Am ski tournament.

 

Each year DISC partners with ski-related charitable organizations supporting many world-wide associations including the U.S. Ski Team. He was a beautiful person, a kind soul and made an impact on many lives. Henri will be remembered as a true gentleman and man of character who was admired and respected by many.

 

There are no words to describe the emptiness his passing will leave in the lives of those who loved and knew him well. In keeping with Henri’s wishes, there be no service or memorial.
