It is with great sadness that the family of Dorothy Heron announces her peaceful passing on June 4, 2025, in her 81st year, with her son by her side after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Dorothy was married to the love of her life, Jim, for 58 wonderful years. She worked at the Royal Bank for 35 years, where she was known for her dedication and kindness. True to her word, she embraced “Freedom 55” and retired proudly at age 55, celebrating with a standing-room-only party at the Palmwood with over 350 people in attendance.

She is lovingly remembered by her children Michelle (Terry), Scott (Laura), and Lisa (Dave), and grandchildren Tyler (Laura), Mataya, Weston, Max, Jett, Hudson, and Cassie. Dorothy was thrilled to be awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandchild, Arthur.

Dorothy will also be deeply missed by her brother-in-law John (Charlotte), cousin Carol, many nieces and nephews, and cherished friends including her Madison St. Family. Her beloved pets—Rhea, Lexi, Buck Heron, Etta, and Zach—held a special place in her heart.

She loved gardening, lounging by the pool with a “Dorothy Pop,” and sharing her radiant smile with all. Her generous, fun-loving spirit left a lasting imprint on all who knew her.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Csanadi, Dr. Scher, and caregivers Vicky, Sue, Betty Anne, Debbie, and Darren at Benner Funeral Services for their compassion and support.

Cremation has been entrusted to Benner Funeral Services. At Dorothy’s request, family and friends are invited to raise a final “Dorothy Pop” in her memory and to always “Keep Smiling.”
